JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Security Officer at the Dayton Art Institute plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff, and artworks within the museum premises. This position involves monitoring and patrolling the facility, enforcing security protocols, responding to emergencies, and providing exceptional customer service to uphold the institute’s commitment to a safe and welcoming environment.
This position is for 3rd shift and requires availability for Wednesday - Sunday, and holidays as needed. The shift typically runs from 10:00 PM (or midnights at times) – 8:00 AM. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $17.81.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts regular patrols of the museum galleries, grounds, and parking areas.
- Monitors security cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevents unauthorized access and potential security breaches ensuring real-time surveillance.
- Provides a visible presence to deter criminal activity to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.
- Assist visitors with directions, information, and emergency situations as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents such as medical emergencies, fires, or security threats.
- Take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of individuals and artworks.
- Enforce museum security policies and procedures to maintain order and protect assets.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Safety Security Officer does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.
