Description

The Senior Applications Analyst leads the execution of professional services commitments as assigned and serves as the subject matter expert on the assigned software applications. This role involves implementing, training, and providing ongoing support for those applications, with direct interaction with both external and internal customers to effectively carry out these responsibilities. You must have revenue cycle management systems experience for this position. 

The Applications Analyst, Senior will:

  • Develop and maintain in depth understanding of assigned software applications
  • Maintains working knowledge of application module integration
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of internal and external documentation and implementation tools as assigned
  • Participate in or leads customer professional services offerings including implementations as assigned
  • Team leader on large or complex projects for other application analyst team members
  • Participate in configuration management responsibilities as assigned
  • Participate in process to validate product deployment program
  • Accountable to comply with implementation standards and guidelines
  • Leads in the completion, submission and presentation of product and project documentation required for the assigned responsibilities
  • Provide support of assigned software applications to the customer base through the established support processes
  • Provide on-call and off-hours support services as assigned and scheduled
  • Provide call center and implement command center coverage as scheduled
  • Evaluate requirements and prepare for product demonstrations as assigned

Qualifications

REVENUE CYCLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrate expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management systems and workflows
  • Configure and optimize billing, claims processing, and accounts receivable modules
  • Ensure accurate charge capture, coding, and claims submission processes
  • Implement and maintain denial management workflows and reporting
  • Design and configure patient financial services tools including payment plans and collections processes
  • Develop reporting and analytics to monitor key revenue cycle KPIs (e.g., days in AR, clean claim rates, denial rates)
  • Support integration between clinical systems and revenue cycle applications
  • Maintain knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and regulatory requirements
  • Implement and optimize prior authorization and eligibility verification workflows
  • Configure and maintain fee schedules, contracts, and payer rules within the system
  • Provide training and support for revenue cycle staff on system functionality and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve revenue cycle application issues impacting financial performance

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree; equivalent combinations of work experience and\or education will be considered

Years of Experience:

  • 3 years of implementation of healthcare revenue cycle management systems and workflows. 
  • 4 or more years of practical professional experience in application maintenance and implementation
  • 4 or more years of customer facing professional services
  • Healthcare industry experience in Information Technology or Clinical Informatics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills involving complex execution with a high attention to detail

Desired:

  • Prior experience in a non-IT clinical, administrative or technical specialty in healthcare
  • Clinical license
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Experience working in a similar role for a healthcare software development vendor
