Commercial Finance Manager

Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is seeking a Commercial Finance Manager. The primary responsibilities of this position are to support the VP of Commercial Finance, lead all financial planning activities, analytics and the management of profitability across Distributor management. In addition, provide effective financial decision support to the Senior Director of Distributor Planning & Performance with distributor management and support the Events team. The location of the role is flexible.

Responsibilities:

• Consolidate Business Unit financials, including risks, opportunities, and commentary preparation.
• Lead and enhance business management tools by collaborating with IT and the commercial finance team.
• Support the coordination of planning and reporting between Distributor Management and other functional teams
• Provide financial support for the events team and the tracking of national incentives
• Develop and implement standardized tools for tracking and reporting ‘Special Promotional Fund’ (SPF) expenditures.
• Provide support for all distributor performance management-related projects.
• Lead the performance scorecarding process, ensuring consistent measurement and publication, review and approve distributor scorecards while overseeing the creation of distributor scorecard gaming files.
• Create ‘Velocity Driving Funds’ [VDF] budgets, monthly accruals and quarterly invoicing
• Ad-hoc requests from the VP of Commercial as required.

Qualifications:

• Education: BS/BA degree in Finance/Accounting required, MBA Preferred
• Minimum seven to ten years of experience in financial analysis/planning with emphasis on brand planning /profitability within a consumer products organization with a slant on commercial finance.
• Must have distributor management experience in a three-tiered route to market framework.
• Industry experience is highly desirable
• Outstanding leadership skills; ability to use influence to build consensus.
• Must be adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Must be able to present at all levels in the organization, especially to senior management
• Must be a self-motivated individual who can identify issues/opportunities for improvement and be proactive in addressing them.  
• Writing and verbal communication skills are critical.
• Requires innovation to provide management with alternative solutions and recommendations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interface with senior managers and discuss issues and plans.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
