Description

Southern Impression Homes, an affiliated company of Sumitomo Forestry America, Inc is seeking a highly motivated Capital Markets Associate to join our dynamic team and support the sourcing, structuring, and closing of debt and equity financing across our real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for a finance or accounting professional with strong analytical and writing skills and a solid understanding of real estate financials.

 

As a key member of the Capital Markets team, you will play a critical role in facilitating deal execution and supporting ongoing monthly and quarterly post-closing reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for real estate finance.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the sourcing and execution of debt and equity financings across a diverse real estate portfolio
  • Assist in the preparation of offering memoranda, lender/investor presentations, and internal investment packages
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate project returns, capital structures, and deal metrics
  • Coordinate due diligence, data collection, and transaction documentation for financing and capital events
  • Track key terms, covenants, and deliverables across loan and equity agreements
  • Manage post-closing obligations, including monthly and quarterly reporting packages to lenders and investors
  • Monitor market trends, capital markets activity, and benchmark financing terms
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Accounting, Development, and Asset Management to support financing initiatives and compliance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience in real estate finance, capital markets, investment banking, or accounting
  • Strong understanding of real estate statements, capital structures, and financing instruments
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills in Excel
  • Strong writing and communication skill with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Certification such as CPA or CFA
  • Proficiency in Argus, PowerPoint, or other data management tools
