 Terros Health is hiring a Vice President of Finance to join our leadership team in Phoenix, AZ.

 

Full-Time; Salaried

Monday-Friday

Central Corporate Office:  Central Ave/ North of Thomas Rd

Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting Preferred

CPA Certification Preferred

10+ Years of Progressive Financial Leadership, Ideally in FQHCs or Nonprofit Healthcare

Deep Understanding of Medicaid/Medicare Reimbursement, Cost Reporting, and Grant Management

Advanced Excel modeling skills and proficiency in financial systems (Great Plains or similar), EMRs (NextGen or similar), and reporting tools (Business Intelligence or similar)
 


The Vice President of Finance serves as a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory and financial reporting compliance, and aligning fiscal strategy with the organization’s mission to provide equitable, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities.


Additional duties include, but not limited to: 

Strategic Financial Leadership
•    Develops and executes long-term financial strategies that support sustainability, growth, and mission impact
•    Leads financial modeling for new initiatives, reimbursement changes, grants, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, value-based contracting opportunities, and similar efforts
•    Evaluates financial feasibility, capital needs, reimbursement implications, and risk/reward tradeoffs for strategic initiatives.
Financial Operations & Oversight
•    Oversees budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
•    Monitors budget-to-actual performance and drive corrective action to meet financial targets
•    Ensures timely and accurate submission of Medicare Cost Reports, 990s, and other state and federal filings
•    Supports revenue cycle operations including billing, collections, and wraparound payments
Team Leadership & Cross Functional Collaboration
•    Hires, trains, supervises, and mentors finance team members, including financial planning & analysis, reimbursement, and reporting staff
•    Champions a culture of transparency, data-driven decision making, fiscal accountability, and continuous improvement
•    Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to align financial goals with care delivery
•    Builds financial literacy across departments through training and tools
•    Ensures proper allocation, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements
•    Collaborates with cross functional teams on budgeting for proposals and reporting
•    Provides professional representation of Terros Health in various community stakeholder forums

Operational Efficiency & Systems
•    Leads or co-leads cross-functional special projects such as system implementations, cost-savings programs, network expansions, and payer contracting initiatives.
•    Drives continuous improvement projects to streamline finance operations, enhance internal controls, and modernize financial systems and reporting.
•    Serves as the finance lead on M&A, strategic planning, and enterprise risk initiatives
•    Standardizes financial processes across departments for consistency and control
Forecasting & Scenario Planning
•    Develops multi-year financial forecasts and stress-test scenarios
•    Builds rolling forecasts and scenario models that inform executive decision making and liquidity planning
•    Analyzes market trends, reimbursement changes, and policy shifts
•    Advises on pricing models, service line profitability, and payer mix optimization
Grant Management and Oversight
•    Oversees financial administration of federal, state, foundation, and private grants, ensuring compliance with award terms and reporting requirements.
•    Maintains grant budgets, track expenditures and deliverables, and coordinate audits and monitoring reviews.
•    Collaborates with program teams to ensure accurate allocation of indirect costs and cost-sharing where applicable.
Reporting and Analytics
•    Designs, implements, and maintains production and operational reporting that links productivity, payer mix, revenue cycle, and clinical metrics to financial outcomes.
•    Builds and maintains executive dashboards and operational scorecards to drive actionable insights.
•    Leads submission of financial portions of annual HRSA based UDS reporting

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, Master’s degree preferred
•    CPA certification, preferred
•    10+ years of progressive financial leadership, ideally in FQHCs or nonprofit healthcare
•    Deep understanding of Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement, cost reporting, and grant management
•    Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities
•    Advanced Excel modeling skills and proficiency in financial systems (Great Plains or similar), EMRs (NextGen or similar), and reporting tools (Business Intelligence or similar)
•    Ability to manage competing priorities, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver results in a dynamic environment
•    Must pass a Drug Screen and TB test
•    Must pass a criminal background check
