Description

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for assisting providers of care in the family practice clinic.  This position ensures quality service and delivery of care to patients and maintains the service delivery environment.  This environment will be clean, well maintained, and the patients are treated with excellence in customer service.  This position supports, promotes and furthers our goal of providing the highest standards of culturally relevant and sensitive professional service consistent with our mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts
  2. Collects client payment and records into practice management system
  3. Ensures that customer calls are answered promptly and courteously and routed appropriately
  4. Protects patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
  5. Processes patient document filing and retention of records
  6. Ensures reception and waiting areas are kept clean and de-cluttered
  7. Performs billing activities as per policy
  8. Processes patient referrals, as directed by providers
  9. Responds to patient questions and routes to appropriate resource
  10. Coordinates and processes medical records requests.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed Medical Assistant program from an accredited school
  • 2 years of experience working as a CMA
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required
