The minimum starting pay for this position is $16/hr. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
Job Purpose:
The Custodial Maintenance Worker ensures the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of public restrooms across the historic 120-acre Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG). This role supports events by preparing and maintaining the restrooms, sometimes assisting with set-ups and breakdowns, and providing routine custodial services to enhance the guest experience and uphold the Garden’s standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Accountability
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of restrooms in the outdoor event spaces.
- Occasionally assist with the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, tents, and other equipment
- Assist with basic maintenance of janitorial and event equipment, ensuring it remains in good working condition.
- Monitor trash bins, ensuring timely collection and disposal
- Report on safety and inventory needs of outdoor public restrooms
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, event schedules, and supplies used.
People Management/Interactions
- Collaborate with event team members, horticulture team members, and contractors to ensure spaces are prepared for programs, weddings, and other special events.
- Work with facilities staff to address issues requiring additional maintenance or repair.
- Participate in team initiatives and contribute to a positive environment.
- Train new staff or volunteers as needed.
Communication
- Communicate with the Event and Janitorial Manager regarding supply needs, equipment repairs, or scheduling adjustments.
- Communicate any safety hazards, damages, or facility issues promptly for resolution.
- Provide updates during events to ensure smooth operations and quick problem resolution.
