What is this job all about?  Â
This is a human services position providing desired and necessary supports to persons with disabilities, via remote supports, so that they may achieve the highest level of independent living possible within their community and reduce dependence on in-home staffing. Â
This position’s workstation is physically located at an Arc administrative office with the potential to work at the residences of persons served in the event physical assistance is required.Â
An employee in this class provides remote supports for activities of daily living and monitors the electronic remote supports system should the individual need assistance, have questions, or require emergency services. Â

What will my day-to-day responsibilities look like?Â
A Remote Support Professional employee is both a mentor and a coach. In this position you will be working hands on with our clients to provide guidance and suggestions to empower their learning. You will do this by: Â
Observing and reporting information concerning the physical, mental, and behavioral condition of the persons served and for assisting in the maintenance of necessary records and reports to document these observations. Supervision and direction are received from the Program Supervisor and/or other staff members who review work through reports and direct observations.Â
What do I need to be successful in this position?Â

Be a minimum of eighteen years of ageÂ

Possession of a diploma from an accredited High School or the equivalent. Â

Must have at least 1 year previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Â

Ability to adequately utilize technological devices necessary for remote supports or other assistive technology devices. Â

Typical shifts are 8 hours on either days, evenings, or overnights with primary openings for evenings/weekends.Â
