HVAC Technician - Essential Job Functions:
- Adjusts system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system, using hand tools
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, follows safety procedures, maintains a clean work area
- Discusses heating-cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems and understand the issues
- Generates work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction
- Inspects and tests system to verify compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions
- Obtains and maintains required certifications
- Reassembles and tests equipment following repairs
- Recommends, develops, and performs preventive and general maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing and vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, and changing filters
- Records and reports all faults, deficiencies, unusual occurrences, plus the time and materials expended on work orders
- Repairs or replaces defective equipment, components, or wiring
- Follows all procedures and protocols
- Cooperates with managers and other field technicians and shares information across the organization
- Comprehends customer requirements and builds positive relationships with customers
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices), carry and climb ladders, work from heights, work in small crawl spaces, balance, stoop, kneel. The employee is expected to work in all weather conditions, both in extreme cold and heat. The employee may drive for extended periods of time, including in all types of weather and day/night light conditions.
