Are you passionate about addressing homelessness through innovative programming, team leadership and trauma-informed care?  Project Hospitality is seeking a dynamic Senior Program Director of Homeless Services Drop-In Center to join our Team.  In this impactful, high-visibility role, you’ll drive transformational change across our drop-in shelter, respite bed program and Special Cares program supporting adults experiencing homelessness as well as the factors which keep them homeless.  This role offers the chance to leave a lasting impact on the lives of individuals by helping them find stability, dignity and hope when they need it most.

  • Lead dedicated staff members making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable
  • Promote sound clinical programming and practice through the implementation of best practices and various models researched as useful and effective with homeless, substance abuse and/or mentally ill persons

  • Manage the day-to-day needs of clients, as well as the physical facility
  • Create a sense of a caring community within the Drop-In Center and demonstrate knowledge about how to maintain safe conditions inside and outside the facility

 

What we’ll expect you to do:

  • Implement Project Hospitality’s policies, procedures and philosophies as they relate to homeless adult service delivery within the Drop-In Center
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, housing-first, and harm-reduction services
  • Oversee daily program operations, compliance, and continual quality improvement
  • Collaborate widely to develop and improve policies, budgets, and innovative funding proposals
  • Mentor managers and empower diverse teams through training, coaching, and promoting an inclusive culture
  • Routinely intervene and provide staff supervision and oversight as client crises and emergencies within the Drop-In Center are dealt with
  • When necessary, perform mental status exams, whenever the psychiatrist is not on-site, to ascertain any suicidal or homicidal thinking
  • Respond expeditiously to medical emergencies in directing staff toward immediate intervention
  • Be responsible for direct contact with DHS and DOHMH and be responsible for data analysis and all reporting in a timely manner
  • Ensure that staff meetings are held as needed and minutes kept which reflect discussions and decisions reached
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the needs of the Drop-In Center during budget preparation and then comply with the program budget as approved, continuously monitoring all expenses and revenues
  • Participate in both internal and external professional activities which further the goals of the program and the field of homeless services

Qualifications

The credentials and experience we require:

  • Master’s degree in applicable field with an LMSW preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the fields of homeless services, substance abuse, and/or mental health treatment is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of administrative and/or supervisory experience in the above areas and strong clinical skills
  • Expertise in housing-first, trauma-informed approaches and harm reduction
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong computer knowledge and fiscal skills, to the degree that the Sr. Program Director can respond to various external regulatory agencies and to the internal needs of the agency, are required.​​​​​​​
