Description and Requirements

Maryland Auto Insurance is seeking a motivated and organized individual for a part-time position in our Claims Department. Qualified candidates must be able to multi-task in a busy, customer service-oriented environment. This position offers hybrid work.  Candidate will be required to come to Maryland Auto's Baltimore office, located at 1215 East Fort Avenue, two to three days per month. These positions are expected to answer phone calls from insureds, claimants, producers, and other concerning the initial reporting of an accident and claims-related questions. In addition, the associate will also answer policy inquires and direct phone calls to the appropriate parties.

Job duties to include:

  • Interpret insurance policies
  • Read and understand various PC screens dealing with policy and claims information
  • Take a first notice of loss report
  • Set up a claim service center appointment or field assignment
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Other duties may be required

Requirements:

Qualified applicants will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of customer service experience. Bilingual skills, fluency in English and Spanish preferred. 

Additional Information

This position will report to a Claims Supervisor and will not supervise other employees. This is a position scheduled for approximately 29 hours each week. 

Salary: $20 per hour 

This position is not eligible for any company paid benefits except for sick and safe leave.
