Refractive Coordinator

Job Description: Loden Vision Centers has been providing the most advanced vision technology and best possible care since 1999. We are currently looking for an individual to join our Surgery Counselor team! We are looking for a candidate who is articulate, well-groomed, and has great attention to detail. Additionally, the preferred candidate will have experience in sales and/or experience counseling patients on elective medical procedures.

Our Surgical Counselors have a pivotal role in making this practice successful. Along with our doctors, the Surgical Counselors address all concerns that the patient may have, while making them feel comfortable with their surgical decision. The Surgical Counselors must be a highly self-motivated individual that works well in a fast-paced environment and is extremely organized and gives great attention to detail. We are seeking individuals that are team oriented and take initiative while being friendly and upbeat. This is a sales position that allows you to offer a product that can change patients’ lives.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Educates and answers questions the patient may have while making them feel comfortable with their surgical decision.
• Answers phones, voicemails, and schedules/reschedules appointments.
• Answers emails and responds to questions regarding their procedure.
• Knowledgeable of new products, services, advanced techniques and procedures that Loden Vision Center offers.
• Maintains acceptable standards, develops communication skills that will provide the highest levels of service, and demonstrates willingness to cross-train.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Experience:

• Medical Office: 1 year (Preferred)
• Sales: 1 year (Preferred)
• Ophthalmology: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Required Qualifications:

• Previous sales or experience counseling patients for elective medical procedures.
• Experience working in Ophthalmology is a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours. Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00 pm (Or until the last patient leaves).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, customer service skills and the ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Education: High School

Experience:

• Surgical Counseling (2+ years, preferred)
• Customer Service Experience (2+ years)

Skills:

• Prior Cataract and Lasik surgery experience (Preferred)
• Sales experience (Preferred)
• Experience in a high volume paced medical office environment (Preferred)
• Knowledge of medical insurance/benefits and medical terminology (Preferred)
• Ability to handle multiple activities effectively, exhibit good communication and intra-personal skills
• Customer service oriented
• Flexibility and dependability to meet demands of workplace and changes in the workplace
• Ability to work in a team environment
