General Description
The Director of Leadership Development is responsible for creating and growing the overall culture of development and sending at Southall. Working across all departments to ensure that volunteers, interns, coaches, leaders, residents and staff have clarity and alignment with our mission, vision, values and strategy.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee and care for the Leadership Development and Sending staff of Southall Church.
- Responsible for the primary oversight and growth of the Southall Church Residency Program (i.e. development of a robust curriculum and leadership development pipeline)
- Work across the organization to equip and coach those leaders overseeing residents.
- Oversee and quality control all resident syncs, meetings and resident events.
- Recruit and lead a team of resident mentors and resident host families.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, placement, and onboarding of all residents.
- Work with all department heads to help them develop a ministry playbook for their area.
- Ensure that all staff members have a personal development plan and are provided opportunities for continued education and growth.
- Oversee and develop an internship program that helps feed ministry areas (worship, creative, production, student ministry, kids ministry, etc).
- Advise and work with HR to ensure future residency opportunities are posted on appropriate platforms, the Southall LinkedIn account, and other recruiting tools are being used as needed to attract new residents.
- Create a Leadership 101 (leading self), 201 (leading others/ management), 301 (theological development), 401 (organizational leadership) for every new staff member to go through.
- Aid the growth of existing ministries through training, collaboration, and gathering information regarding best practices in other churches.
- Promote a positive workplace culture by planning and executing weekly staff huddles, monthly all-staff meetings, a yearly staff survey, staff retreats and other special staff events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor.
