Data Warehouse Developer (Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, Smithfield, Rhode Island): On behalf of a health maintenance organization (HMO), develop, implement, and maintain business driven information system solutions, including warehouses of database information, on time and within budget. Work closely with the business analysts to understand the business requirements and create technical solutions using the appropriate tools.

Specific responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop new functionality and process models for existing and new applications to support the organization’s data warehouse and reporting strategy.
- Troubleshoot and correct issues with existing applications in the data warehouse environment.
- Identify new technologies or technological improvements to include in the data warehouse applications to improve usability, stability, and maintainability.
- Provide technical consultation to internal business partners.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the business intelligence and development team, including improving documentation and software quality, and outline and implement solutions.
- Use Microsoft SQL Server including Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, Triggers, Views, and Indexes to develop information system solutions.
- Design and implement relational database structures.
- Design and develop data analysis and reporting solutions and perform system and data analysis.
- Utilize Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
- Responsible for complying with Neighborhood’s Corporate Compliance Program, Standards of Business Conduct, applicable contracts, laws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures as they apply to individual job duties, the department, and the organization.
- Exercise due diligence to prevent, detect and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents.

This is a hybrid position working 4 days per week at the office in Smithfield, RI and 1 day per week from a home office within commuting distance to Smithfield, RI. Position requires less than 5% of time spent on domestic travel.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field and 1 year of experience as a developer working within Microsoft SQL Server on stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers, views, and indexes.

Must have: (I) During experience required above, must have had exposure designing relational database structures and designing and developing data analysis and reporting solutions for healthcare and/or insurance industry clients; (II) Background using (a) System Development Life Cycle, (b) Project Management Techniques, (c) Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS, (d) XML, (e) EDI, and (f) Power BI; (III) Track record demonstrating strong systems analysis, problem solving, and design skills; (IV) Strong verbal and written communication skills; (V) Proven leadership skills; (VI) Excellent customer service skills; (VII) Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; and (VIII) Availability to work after hours and/or weekend when needed.
