This is a full-time position and receives all benefits afforded to regular employees.                              Position requires: GA P.O.S.T. certification with four (4) years of previous law enforcement experience.
Summary: The purpose of this classification is to provide protection of life and property, enforcement of federal, state, and local laws, response to emergency/non-emergency situations, and investigation of criminal activity.
Essential Job Functions:Â The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Conducts criminal investigations and/or response to dispatched calls involving narcotics, vice, homicide, rape, assault, abduction, missing persons, juvenile, child abuse/neglect, abuse of the elderly, auto/property theft, burglary, robbery, gang activity, financial fraud, forgery, or other crimes.
- Enforces all applicable codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations (including traffic, criminal and civil) in order to protect life and property, prevent crime, and promote security.
- Performs other related duties as required.
