ReDiscover is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to add to our Urgent Care Department!

ReDiscover has been known for over 50 years as a non-profit community mental health center in southeastern Jackson County, Missouri with a mission of delivering efficient and cost-effective treatment for the people we serve. WHAT WE DO
The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of its kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs. At this clinic, we are able to treat children and adolescents as well as adults for their mental health and/or substance use disorder crisis.
At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, and prescribing appropriate psychotropic medication.
- Managing the medical care and treatment for the program specific population seeking services at ReDiscover.
- Attending and participating in regularly scheduled treatment team meetings and working with members of a diverse, interdisciplinary team.
- Providing timely and appropriate documentation for billable services.
- Facilitating each client’s achievement of long range outcomes of symptom management, and functionality based upon the needs of the client.
- Collecting and maintaining information about clients and documenting interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
- Communicating and collaborating with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
