About our Peer Services Program
The Peer Services program is an expansion program dedicated to outreaching and connecting clients to services for mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Our Peer Services provide support to clients using personal experiences to build rapport and engage in services that are offered.

What You’ll Do:
- Share lived experience of resilience and recovery and models successful recovery behaviors for individuals with a mental health diagnoses and/or a substance use disorder.
- Link clients with support groups and other community resources, which may include connecting with health & wellness activities, finding and maintaining employment, or other activities that would support clients’ recovery goals.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop and modify individual client treatment plans.
- May participate and/or facilitate mutual support and education groups within specific ReDiscover programs.
- May assist with client transportation, which could include transporting individuals in personal vehicle.
- Safeguards Protected Health Information (written and electronically) and maintains confidentiality. This may include providing written documentation.
Requirements of the Position:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Will have to be willing to work  Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.
- A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work.
- Must have life experiences with a substance use disorder and/or mental illness and have received appropriate services.
- Must have successfully completed the Peer Specialist training through the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB) and successfully passed the certification exam. Individuals who are non-certified at time of hire may be given a specific timeframe to attend training and obtain initial certification.
- Must also satisfy requirements for external community partners.Â
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
