About the Urgent Care Program

Â
The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.

What You'll Do

Â
- Evaluate client’s mental health condition based on the review of client information, including bio-psycho-social assessments, psychological evaluation, and diagnostics.Â
- Collect information about the client through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for the client(s) being served.

- Availability to work a full-time schedule, (40-hours a week), Friday - Monday two different shifts available.
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).
- Active clinical license in the State of Missouri which includes: Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting.
- Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong  written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.
