What You Will Do:

The Medical Assistant will work closely with our pediatric gastroenterologist and clinical team to assist in the daily operations of the clinic. This includes preparing patients for exams, obtaining medical histories, assisting during procedures, and coordinating follow-up care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and experienced in pediatric settings.

 

Work You Will Do:

  • Greet and room pediatric patients and families in a warm, professional manner
  • Obtain and document patient history, vital signs, height/weight, and reason for visit
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Assist with phone triage, prescription refills, and patient communications
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
  • Support administrative tasks as needed (e.g., scheduling, faxing, medical records)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

What is Necessary:

Essential:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Possess a Degree, Diploma or Certificate of Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant training program (or accredited nursing program) or have a minimum of 1-year prior experience functioning as a Medical Assistant in a clinic/hospital setting, or completion of Medical Assistant type training in the armed services.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Maintain predictable and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
