Description

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct the following types of FEM analysis on Hi-Lex products/assemblies:
  • Linear and non-linear
  • Implicit and explicit
  • Modal
  • Apply contact constraints to assembly models
  • Develop internal FEA methods and specifications to meet customer requirements
  • Provides technical feedback to customers and/or Hi-Lex engineers regarding part/assembly FEA outputs, design and optimization options
  • Material curve generation from raw stress-strain data
  • Ability to read and edit input decks (.inp, .bdf, .rad, .fem)

Qualifications

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

  • 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology or a related field, or equivalent experience, required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a FEA or automotive design function is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Computer literacy with capability in email, MS office, and related software
  • Proficient with the following FEA software:
  • Abaqus
  • Hypermesh
  • Catia V5

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as printers and plotters.
  • Position requires 10% travel domestically
  • Sometimes works around factory equipment.
  • Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects - up to 25 pounds.
