JOB SUMMARY:
Dispatcher is responsible for, but not limited to, coordinating product shipments and transfers to various customers
and their locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work closely with sales staff and customers to coordinate purchasing orders
● Receive, process, and prepare orders for pickup or delivery
● Coordinate product transfers between locations
● Coordinate shipments via trucking companies
● Provide load requirement information to all drivers
● Complete orders accurately and in a timely manner
● Operate truck scales
● Complete weight tags, bills of lading, and hazardous material shipping documents
● Receive product-order inquiries via phone and email
● Provide direction and instructions (verbal and written) to customers and employees
● Track and maintain inventory of products stored in warehouse and in bulk storage
● Calculate total quantities of product by weight and/or volumetric measurements
● Perform customer service duties as needed by responding to calls and visitors in a professional manner
● Provide backup and assistance to other dispatchers/employees by answering phones as needed
● Assign and monitor drivers throughout routes
● Performs other duties as assigned
