Production Support Engineer

**This is a remote position. We are currently looking to fill this role with a candidate based in PST time zone***

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Support Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of critical production systems. The ideal candidate will diagnose and resolve technical issues, implement improvements, and collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Act as the first point of contact for application and infrastructure support requests.  

• Manage incidents that occur in the production environment. This involves logging and tracking incidents, communicating with stakeholders, and following up to ensure that incidents are resolved. 

• Perform root cause analysis of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.  

• Collaborate with software development and DevOps teams to maintain and troubleshoot applications.  

• Improve system performance, capacity, and scalability by optimizing processes.  

• Maintain and update system documentation, runbooks, and incident reports.  

• Support release management activities to ensure smooth deployment processes and timely resolution of issues. 

• Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch) to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues. 

• Monitor and maintain third-party integrations, identifying potential issues early and working to resolve them swiftly. 

• Provide on-call support as required and participate in incident management and resolution. 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

• Experience in application support, system administration, or software development.  

• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Unix and Windows).  

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tools.  

• Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools (JIRA, ServiceNow).  

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.  

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision. 

Required Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 

• At least 4 years related experience required.  

Preferred Requirements: 

• Experience in the P&C insurance industry 

Physical Requirements:  

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

Salary: Starting at $100,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer.
