This position is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric crisis. The registered nurse role involves rapid assessment, crisis intervention, de-escalation, medication administration, and coordination of care in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. The registered nurse provides  services to adult individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in a 24/7 facility. The RN collaborates closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and stabilization of individuals. The RN will perform initial and ongoing mental health and physical assessments of individuals in crisis, administer medications, including psychotropic drugs, and monitor for efficacy and side effects. Provide therapeutic interventions including crisis de-escalation and therapeutic communications. Monitor and maintain a safe and secure therapeutic environment. Document care provided, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record. Participate in team meetings and case reviews. Educate individuals and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and discharge along with aftercare planning. Provide assistance as needed for other services. supported housing, employment services, co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders (COPSD). The Crisis Center RN provides evidenced based services to assist individuals in maintaining or improving their ability to function in the community and work towards their recovery goals.Â
