Job Title: E-Commerce Assistant Fulfillment Manager

Reports To: E-Commerce Fulfillment Manager
 

Position Summary

The Assistant Fulfillment Manager plays a key leadership role in daily fulfillment center operations by overseeing inventory control, order processing, and warehouse organization. This position supervises a team of fulfillment associates and is responsible for making personnel decisions, enforcing policy, and ensuring operational efficiency in accordance with company standards. The role requires a high level of discretion, initiative, and leadership to manage workflow and achieve productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Personnel Management

  • Supervise daily activities of 2 or more direct reports, including delegation of tasks, time management, and performance oversight.
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of fulfillment team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching, corrective action, and recognition as needed.
  • Monitor and enforce company policies, safety procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Assist in creating shift schedules and ensuring adequate staffing.
  • Promote a positive team environment that supports continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities and shift priorities as needed to support daily operations.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee the accurate receipt of inbound inventory, inspecting receipts for accuracy and reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of inventory storage and processing areas to ensure efficient order picking and restocking.
  • Assist in reconciling discrepancies between physical inventory and digital systems (Shopify and Celerant).

Fulfillment Operations

  • Supervise the order fulfillment process, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist with resolving order issues, product misplacement, or delays by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure quality control and packaging standards are met before shipping.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify inefficiencies in daily operations and recommend solutions to improve accuracy, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures in all warehouse activities.
  • Report facility maintenance needs or process concerns to senior management.
  • Assists in driving new processes and changes, by helping team members adapt smoothly and providing clear communication.
  • Supports culture of process improvement and encourages innovation to enhance operational efficiency.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role with proven results.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with LEAN principles or continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Ability to drive results through a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer systems; experience with Shopify, Celerant, or inventory management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible availability during peak business periods; including evening and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, and lift items up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.

Schedule Requirements

  • Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and peak business periods such as holidays or sales events.
