Amharic Language Instructor Online - Part-Time (US Citizenship Required)

ICA is currently seeking an online Amharic Language Instructor.  The candidates should have at least two years of experience teaching the target language in a proficiency-oriented environment to adult students on an intensive basis.

Candidates must be US Citizens

Job Details:

• Period of performance: 5/19/25 - 6/22/25 
• Schedule: 
  • Mondays, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST
  • Thursdays, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EST
• Training hours: 20 instructional hours (no prep)
• Total hours: students can request additional 20-hour blocks of hours, but must be able to commit to completing all hours by program end date of 6/22/25
• Training type: familiarization
• Training goal: no formal goals
• Testing format: no testing planned
• Number of students: 1
• Rate: $22.00-$23.00
• The training program will include homework activities and should focus on developing language skills such as: speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of full-time experience teaching adult students
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Native speaker of the Amharic language
• Teaching experience with Zoom online platform preferred.
