YWCA GLA provides direct services, empowerment programming, and advocacy to support marginalized individuals and families, especially women and girls of color, while working to challenge structural barriers to equity. 

Position Overview
Under the Survivor Empowerment Services Program, the SART/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all SART response team activities, which include scheduling coverage and ensuring fluid communication with law enforcement, forensic nurses, and legal services. The SART/Volunteer Coordinator is an active member of the emergency response services team. The position requires being on call and available for emergency response. The SART/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteers, including recruitment, screening and training of volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis response guidance during emergency situations and coordinate appropriate responses to ensure survivor safety and well-being.
• Maintain SART office within service area and any other social service providers.
• Provides support services to participants as appropriate, to include, but not limited to information and referral, client intake, advocacy, follow-up services, court, hospital and police station accompaniment, crisis intervention, presentations and resource directory.
• Maintains documentation of SART/Volunteer services.
• Assists in the recruitment of program participants and volunteers.
• Liaison to the community to describe and educate them about YWCAGLA Volunteer Advocate opportunities.
• Facilitates the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Training at least 2 times a year and conducts monthly in-service meetings.
• Provides coverage for Hotline and SART coverage.

Salary: MIN $20.50/hr.

• Two years college plus three years paid, or volunteer experience working in community-based programs or a BS/BA in Social Work, Counseling or Social Services.
• Experience working with diverse cultures.
• Experience working as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Counseling, advocacy and public speaking background required.
• Three years volunteer or paid experience in delivery of activities that address survivor empowerment services.
• Certified in Rape Crisis by State of California Sexual Assault Division.
• Bilingual capabilities are desired.
