Position Overview
Under the Survivor Empowerment Services Program, the SART/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all SART response team activities, which include scheduling coverage and ensuring fluid communication with law enforcement, forensic nurses, and legal services. The SART/Volunteer Coordinator is an active member of the emergency response services team. The position requires being on call and available for emergency response. The SART/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteers, including recruitment, screening and training of volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis response guidance during emergency situations and coordinate appropriate responses to ensure survivor safety and well-being.
- Maintain SART office within service area and any other social service providers.
- Provides support services to participants as appropriate, to include, but not limited to information and referral, client intake, advocacy, follow-up services, court, hospital and police station accompaniment, crisis intervention, presentations and resource directory.
- Maintains documentation of SART/Volunteer services.
- Assists in the recruitment of program participants and volunteers.
- Liaison to the community to describe and educate them about YWCAGLA Volunteer Advocate opportunities.
- Facilitates the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Training at least 2 times a year and conducts monthly in-service meetings.
- Provides coverage for Hotline and SART coverage.
