YWCA Greater Los Angeles (GLA) is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We provide direct services, empowerment programming, and advocacy to support marginalized individuals and families, especially women and girls of color, while working to challenge structural barriers to equity.


Objective of Position

To handle a wide range of Human Resources functions including employee relations, recruitment, employee engagement, compliance, risk mitigation. To adhere to applicable policies, procedures and federal, state and local employment laws. To support and work with the employees within the Association to address Human Resources need


Statement of Duties


  • Work closely with Human Resources management in handling employee relations, performance evaluations, the annual Affirmative Action Plan, and revisions of Human Resources policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Work closely with Human Resources management in employee training, New Employee Orientation, & Managers monthly meetings.
  • Prepare Human Resources reports as requested.
  • Maintain accurate Human Resources records and files.
  • Work with departments to obtain accurate and approved personnel requisitions, establishing a file for each opening.
  • Work with departments to develop accurate job descriptions and revise such job descriptions as necessary.
  • Doing initial screening of applicants and facilitating zoom interviews.
  • Attend selected job fairs and career days, as appropriate and effective.
  • Participate in meetings with workers compensation brokers, benefits broker and insurance carriers to insure knowledge of current coverage policies of the Association.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree required
  • Minimum four years’ work experience in Human Resources, with emphasis on employee relations, compliance, recruitment, benefits, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures.
  • Valid California driver’s license and state required auto insurance.
  • Computer literate and knowledge of relevant software.
