The Quality Inspector supports daily operations by performing critical sampling, inspection, and basic testing of spices and seasonings in a production environment. This role ensures product integrity and quality by monitoring critical control points and verifying compliance with company and regulatory food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The Quality Inspector plays a vital role in identifying deviations and supporting corrective actions that contribute to enhancement of quality manufacturing. This is a temp-to-hire position with a 90–180 day probationary period, reporting directly to the QC Supervisor or Quality Control Manager in their absence.
This position is regularly scheduled to be staffed Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m for first shift and 4:00 pm to 12:00 am for second shift, with occasional overtime as needed to support department and company business needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform sampling and basic physical and organoleptic testing of spices and seasonings in lab and production environments
- Ensure accurate label and weight verification of raw materials and finished product packaging on production lines
- Monitor and conduct checks of metal detection control points during production to ensure proper function
- Verify correct information and labeling of staged ingredients for production of seasoning formulations
- Ensure adherence to GMPs, GLPs, and food safety standards
- Document and report all deviations and non-conformances to operations leads and QC supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work environment
- Perform other duties as requested in support of the department and company business needs
