About CMFCAA
The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports, and advocates for foster, adoptive, & kinship children, youth, & families in central Missouri by offering services & partnering with community & governmental agencies to develop healthy & self-sufficient individuals & families.
Currently, we are assisting over 640 foster families, over 1400 foster children, over 400 adopted children in our service area. Our goal is to be a support to the families, children and youth in this area, and we work tirelessly to provide much needed services to them.
Position Summary
The Director of Development is a key leader within the Advancement team, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support CMFCAA’s mission and growth. This role manages individual giving, major gifts, events, grants, donor stewardship, and corporate sponsorships across all agency locations. The Director of Development builds meaningful, long-term relationships with donors, leads fundraising campaigns, oversees key development staff, and collaborates with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to meet annual and long-term revenue goals.
Essential Functions/Job Expectations

Develop and oversee fundraising campaigns, including the Backyard BBQ Bash, annual Gala, and emerging regional fundraisers.

Identify and cultivate new donors, including high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and foundations, to expand funding streams.

Minimum 3 years of nonprofit fundraising or donor relations experience, including major gifts, campaign planning, or events management.
