Job Summary:  The incumbent will work within the lending systems to provide information to Members regarding loan decisions. They will then work with members and vendors to complete the paperwork and disbursal process.

All job positions at 7 17 Credit Union may be assigned further duties with or without notice, verbally or in writing.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Primary Duties:

  1. Contact members regarding their loan decision.
  2. Gather additional information needed by the Underwriter and/or needed to close the loan.
  3. Assist other employees with lending questions, closing and title requirements.
  4. Input and verify information and update credit applications according to current procedures.
  5. Send loan closing documents to members through remote signature.  Once loan documents are signed, disburse the loan and complete necessary post-closing checklists.
  6. Contact third parties such as but not limited to sellers, dealerships, other financial institutions to obtain necessary information to prepare loan documents for closing.
  7. Review online loan applications for completeness prior to contacting applicants with final loan decision.
  8. Create and review loan documents for accuracy and completeness, and verify that loan closing, underwriting and stipulation conditions are satisfactorily met before finalizing the transaction by booking the loan account and/or disbursing the loan proceeds.
  9. Receive member inquiries and respond to members’ requests in a timely, professional manner.
  10. Contacting members to refinance balloon loans and discussing Visa accounts over their credit limits.
  11. Audit debt protection forms and system programing for accuracy.  Submit corrections back to responsible employees.
  12. Researching out of state title requirements to ensure closing documents include necessary paperwork to complete title transfers and proper 7 17 lien.
  13. When appropriate after the loan closing, assist in contacting members, sellers or other third parties to assist in corrections needed on closing paperwork, miscalculated taxes, payoffs and/or title information.
  14. Use computer applications as required and post transactions.
  15. Responsible for meeting credit union, departmental and or individual goals, and sales goals.
  16. Perform all duties in compliance with Federal and State regulations, 7 17 Board policies, as well as departmental and credit union procedures.

Secondary Duties:

  1. Complete procedures established to set up and maintain loan accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, helpdesks, miscellaneous lending reports processing or funding indirect loans, balancing internal draft accounts and GLs, completing loan modification agreements, and other such transactions.
  2. Back up or may work in conjunction with other members of the loan production staff as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Confidentiality Requirements:  Must keep members' transactions and other Credit Union business in strictest confidence.

Travel Demands:  None Required

Prerequisite Education: 

1.   High school diploma or equivalent

Prerequisite Experience:

  1. In the last three years, at least six months taking Consumer loan applications, processing, closing, underwriting, or servicing.  Valid work experience would include the task being a regular part of the daily job functions and/or primary duties of the position.

Other Prerequisite Requirements of the Position:

  1. Must obtain an acceptable score on an Excel assessment.
  2. Must be accurate and thorough in handling and recording transactions.

Certifications, licenses required: State Notary to be attained within 90 days in the position.
