JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Director of Fuel Operations is responsible for all aspects of the operations and performance of multiple fuel and convenience store locations for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. This leadership role ensures that fuel and retail operations are optimized and aligned with the organization broader operational and financial goals.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

 

  • Working with store management to oversee the daily retail operations of multiple fuel stores. Monitor sales performance; analyze sales data; develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  • Monitoring sales performance; analyzing sales data; developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability; managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Monitor fuel markets and industry trends to inform buying strategies and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee fuel inventory levels and ensure accurate forecasting of gallon flow and fuel needs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Gaming Operations and Tribal government departments.
  • Prepare and present reports on sales, expenses, inventory, and other key performance indicators.
  • Participate in budget preparation and financial analysis related to fuel store operations.
  • Respond to fuel-related emergencies and supply disruptions, ensuring business continuity.
  • Monitor compliance with tribal and federal laws and regulations.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct involvement in all fuel operations as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in retail fuel industry.
  • Deep understanding of the fuel industry, including supply markets, pricing structures, logistics, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of fuel and convenience store operations.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Must be able to perform field inspections and be able to work in heat for short periods.

 

Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, general office equipment, and multi-line telephone.
