JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

 

In support of and at the direction of the Director of Public Relations, the PR Project Manager will oversee workflow across the public relations team, ensuring all initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.  This role is responsible for managing the project management platform, streamlining processes, and coordinating tasks among team members.  The PR Project Manager will monitor and enforce deadlines, track progress, and maintain clear communication to support successful execution of projects in support of the Tribe’s goals.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

 

  • Manage and optimize the team’s project management workflow system.
  • Create and maintain project timelines, task assignments and deliverables.
  • Develop, implement and monitor project plans, timelines and workflows to ensure smooth and efficient operations and that projects stay on schedule.
  • Facilitate communication between team members to maintain alignment on project goals and deadlines.
  • Track project status and provide regular updates to department leadership on deadlines, project milestones and outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve workflow challenges to enhance efficiencies.
  • Must comply with all applicable standard operating procedures and Tribal Regulations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.  A degree major with an emphasis in liberal arts or social science is preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience employed in a position with principal duties including project management within marketing or public relations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Advanced skills in writing reports and business correspondence. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects accurately and efficiently under time constraints with little supervision. 
  • Position requires a high level of professional judgment, tact and confidentiality.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with workflow management systems and digital asset management. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new applications and programs as well as developing creative solutions.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing, stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.  May also be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.

 

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, life and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone. 

 

Must be able to travel 35% of the time in and out of Palm Springs, California area.
