Position Summary:

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling and overseeing the work of the Electrical Staff based on Operational priorities and generated work orders; to ensure safe and efficient installation and repairs of facilities and machinery throughout the entire campus.

Work Hours:

The Electrical Supervisors “normal” work hours will consist of 5 x 10 hour days Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 5:00pm. On occasion you will be expected to work weekend days and extra hours on your normal work days when needed to accomplish a task. As an Electrical Supervisor you will eventually join the electrical “On Call” rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to oversee electricians during the course of your shift.
  • Communicate assignments and major tasks to the electrical team, making sure they have all the materials and instructions necessary to complete work assignments safely, completely and correctly.
  • Periodically check work in progress of each team and provide immediate assistance and instruction as needed.
  • Work with the Safety team to insure all Encore’s equipment meets the safety requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in electrical manufacturing.
  • Program Logic Controller trouble-shooting and minor programming experience.
  • AC and DC drive diagnostics and programming experience.
  • AC and DC motor trouble-shooting.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously when necessary.
  • Must be detail orientated.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read, follow and understand mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings, schematics manuals and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Computer skills with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures (PPE, LOTO, Confined Space equipment, etc).
  • Be able to do evaluations on each employee in your group.
  • Provide electrical Arc Flash equipment and maintain inventory.
  • Ensure backup programs, HMI files and machine prints are gathered and current.
  • Gather and maintain software for machines.
  • After hours on call scheduling.
  • Do employee evaluations.
  • Work with parts to keep critical parts on hand.
  • Generate weekly hours report.
  • Search for replacements for obsolete parts.
  • Work with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Find alternative parts for ones with long lead times.
  • Be able to do evaluations on each employee in your group. Provide electrical Arc Flash equipment and maintain inventory.
  • Ensure backup programs, HMI files and machine prints are gathered and current.
  • Gather and maintain software for machines.
  • Interview new electrical candidates.
  • Work with other departments to minimize downtime.
