GRID Alternatives is hiring Community Partners for the Energy for All Program in select communities in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Community Partners work in their own neighborhood and surrounding areas to provide education and enrollment opportunities for the State of California’s no-cost solar program to qualified homeowners. This is an opportunity to bring the benefits of clean energy to your community, and help families save up to 90% on their monthly energy bills.
Successful candidates must have prior experience working in the community, and knowledge of community dynamics and culture. No experience in clean energy/solar is required - training will be provided.
Energy for All is a program of GRID Alternatives, a community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit chosen by the State of California to administer a statewide program that provides solar electric systems at no cost to qualified low and moderate income households. This is part of the State’s effort to reduce harmful emissions and transition to 100% clean, renewable energy - there is no catch, and there are no hidden costs.
Community Partner Position Details
Terms of Employment:
- Employment is at-will, initial term is through February 2019
- 25 hours/week, flexible hours with some evenings and weekends required
- Compensation is $18/hour + $1,000 or more in monthly bonuses for meeting enrollment goals
- Must be based in or near one of the following communities: South or East Los Angeles, Pomona, Southgate, Long Beach, Compton, Lynwood and other high priority cities
Position Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly goals for collecting applications to the Energy for All program from pre-qualified households
- Conduct outreach to members of your community about the Energy for All Program, including: canvassing specific households as assigned, distributing printed education materials, attending community events as assigned, making phone calls to community members, etc.
- Provide information to community leaders and community-based organizations about the Energy for All referral program
- Submit daily reports on your activities and results to GRID Alternatives Outreach leadership
