Eligibility: Must be a Charleston Southern University student to apply. Students enrolled in courses during the semester they are working are FICA exempt. Students not enrolled in the semester are required to pay FICA taxes. Students are not permitted to work during scheduled class times.

Responsibilities:
The following duties are needed for this position and they are intended to provide
students with experience related to their educational and/or career objective:
- The Event Assistant (Work Study) will support the Event Services team in executing successful campus events.
- This role involves assisting with event setups and breakdowns, operating and maintaining audiovisual equipment, and performing other duties as assigned.
- This is a part-time, work-study position designed to provide students with practical experience in event management and technical support within a university setting.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture, staging, and décor for campus events.
- Operate and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment, including microphones, projectors, and sound
- systems.
- Ensure event spaces are clean and organized before and after events
- Provide on-site support during events, addressing any technical or logistical needs.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines for event setups.
- Communicate effectively with event organizers, staff, and attendees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Event Services Technical Manager
Rate of pay (Pay Scale Guide): $8.00/Hour paid on the 15th of the month following the month when the work was
performed (e.g. work performed in June, is paid on July 15).
Schedule: If offered work study employment, supervisors will coordinate work hours based on student’s class schedule. Students are not permitted to work during chapel or during regularly scheduled class time (even if the class is cancelled for some reason).
