Position Overview:
The College of Mathematics and Science at Charleston Southern University is offering NSF-supported research opportunities for graduate assistants (2 positions) and undergraduate research assistants (2 positions). These positions will provide hands-on experience in cutting-edge research at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Ontology Development, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Software Engineering.
What You Will Do / Learn

Use LLMs to extract and structure knowledge from software artifacts

Build and evaluate ontologies for software evolution

Contribute to AI-enabled web application design and development

Gain experience in project planning, documentation, and research presentation

Hours:
Part-time, temporary positions approximately 0-16 hours per week. All appointments are semester-based and contingent on performance, project needs, and funding availability.Â
Compensation:
Graduate Research Assistant
- Monthly Stipend equivalent to approximately 16 hrs/week plus tuition remission/scholarship may be included (per policy & funding).
Graduate Assistant
- Hourly rate of $12 with a maximum 16 hours per weekÂ
Undergraduate Research Assistant
- Monthly Stipend equivalent to approximately 8 hrs/week plus tuition remission/scholarship may be included (per policy & funding).
Undergraduate Assistant
- Hourly rate of $12 with a maximum 8 hours per weekÂ
