Buyer/Purchasing Position
A Purchasing/Sourcing Clerk is in charge of completing various tasks, clerical in nature, related to the inward and outward movement of parts, supplies and raw materials within PTMW INC.
Duties:
- Preparing or editing purchase orders from various departments.
- Checking if there is enough stock in the inventory to meet requirements.
- Placing orders with suppliers or vendors and ensuring that documentation is in order, with terms and conditions being clear.
- Maintaining a filing system in the purchase department and updating appropriate records when required.
- Interacting with suppliers in case of delay in delivery of supplies, receipt of damaged or incorrect quantity of goods. Communicate any issues to the production team.
- Must be able to communicate with people within the company, as well as with suppliers, shipping agents, courier companies.
- Ordering product via various methods (Stock Ordering/Subcontract/Critical Materials).
- Assists engineering and project management in the quote process by obtaining quotes from vendors for new products.
- Locate and establish alternate suppliers.
- Attend production meetings as needed.
- Participate in process improvement activities.
- Problem solving abilities.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor and/or management team.
