Qualifications and Attributes:
- Bachelors degree in Art or Art Education, required
- Masters Degree, preferred
- Three years of experience as an Art teacher in similar position, preferred
- Knowledge of and practice in current art education and innovative approaches to teaching art
- Possess a working knowledge of traditional and contemporary modes of art making
- Ability and willingness to assist with set, backdrop, and prop design and creation for musicals
- Be comfortable and adept with the effective use of technology in the learning process
- Knowledge and understanding of various learning styles and differentiated instruction
- Ability to inspire, engage, empower, and educate and evaluate students with vigor and creativity
- A history of commitment to professional development and life-long learning
- The ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents and faculty
- A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct both in and outside of school
- Ability, willingness, and judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately, and concisely with all constituents in a school environment, both verbally and in writing
- Enthusiasm and commitment to the vision and Mission of the School
