Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or post graduate work in Spanish or a closely related discipline required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience teaching Spanish is required, experience teaching at the upper (high) school level is preferred
- Ability to teach Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish III required
- Ability and training to teach AP Spanish preferred
- Experience with Standards Based Grading curriculum preferred
- Experience with Canvas or other Learning Management System preferred
- Experience in, and enthusiasm for, the Florida State Spanish Conference; ability and willingness to chaperone and supervise students attending state and national events
- Native or near-native Spanish proficiency required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills
- Be comfortable and adept with the effective use of technology in the learning process
- Be respectful to and understanding of students, parents, and others from all socio-economic backgrounds and cultures
- Knowledge and understanding of various learning styles and differentiated instruction
- Ability to inspire, engage, empower, educate and evaluate students with vigor and creativity
- A history of commitment to professional development and life-long learning
- The ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents, and faculty
- A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct both in and outside of school
- Ability, willingness, and judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately, and concisely with all constituents in a school environment, both verbally and in writing
