Description

Primarily responsible for coordinating the physical movement of vehicles on the lot and through the sales lane.  

JOB DUTIES 

  • Conduct inspection of support equipment for proper working order 

  • Conduct presale walk to ensure vehicles are in assigned lane as scheduled 

  • Identify and address missing vehicles, overflow areas, inoperable vehicles and other issues 

  • Maintain the run list indicating vehicles with no keys, late vehicle entries, and/or late number changes 

  • Respond to customer and dealer inquiries and concerns 

  • Coordinate and direct vehicle movement to maintain continuous flow of traffic to the block 

  • Oversee parking sold vehicles and re-parking non-sold vehicles 

  • Report theft, lot damage, or any safety concerns to management 

 

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School Diploma/GED 

  • Working knowledge of vehicles 

  • Data entry 

  • Basic computer skills

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission. 

  • Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump-starting vehicles.) 

  • Regular and substantial contact with others. Contacts usually involve discussions related to policies and programs and may include proposal or presentation writing, negotiation with vendors, and the like. Handles sensitive, complex, and/or confidential information 

  • Requires moderate interpersonal and communication skills to ensure that customer requests or needs are met. Acknowledges and clarifies customer inquiries, requests, or complaints to ensure that needs are identified, documented and addressed 

  • Tasks are multiple and focus more on single processes. Work is sometimes standardized and sometimes varied. There is no responsibility for budget, revenues and/or expenditures 

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies and practices. Refers unusual problems to supervisor 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Work involves continuous exposure to hazardous substances, potentially dangerous situations, and unpleasant work conditions such as adverse weather conditions or extreme risk of accident or ill health 

  • Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity which includes 40% walking, 30% standing, 5% pulling, 5% pushing, 15% in cramped or confined spaces, and 5% sitting
