The Material Handler assists the inspector and/or operates the exit end of the Tenter Frame. The Material Handler helps inspect every production lot for flaws and helps record and mark flaws on fabric. The Material Handler is responsible for labeling and bagging each finished roll and placing it in the specified rack. The Material Handler will assist the inspector when cutting out a roll of fabric.
Material Handlers on the automotive side will inspect, package, label and move rolls weighing up to 200 lbs.
The role of the Material Handler will report directly to the Operations Manager. The Material Handler will take direction from the Inspector or the Frame Operator.
Essential Functions
- Inform Quality Control about non-conform product.
- Make sure all reference samples are cut and placed in the Quality Control bin.
- Follow specifications on package size, specific paper cores, specific color plastic bags, specific shipping instructions.
- Report safety and maintenance problems throughout the day to Management and/or Maintenance Supervisor
- Put empty recycled cores and trash rolls in designated areas immediately.
- Responsible for notifying Operations Manager for needed inspection supplies or rack removal.
- Always maintain a clean work area!
