Agency Trainer

Glenwood is looking for an Agency Trainer. The trainer will be responsible for the delivery of informal and formal learning solutions in a manner that both engages the learner and produces the desired outcomes. This will be achieved by managing and responding to learner needs and ensuring that the learning is made available in appropriate platforms. This position reports to the VP of Human Resources and will work closely with other departments.

 

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and leading Onboarding/Orientation training for new hire class.
  • Deliver effective and consistent training by having a deep understanding of the content and utilizing the participant and facilitator materials provided.
  • Complete required administrative duties, paperwork, training tracking documentation and other assignments on or before identified timeframes.
  • Provide performance and behavioral coaching and feedback to learners throughout the learning experience while maintaining or enhancing learners’ confidence.
  • Support all feedback with specific, behavioral examples and recommendations for improving performance while creating opportunities for self-awareness and insight.
  • Establish a learning environment where learners feel safe to try new skills and behaviors, individual differences are respected, and confidentiality is supported. Model behavior that is consistent with the goals of the program.
  • Ensure the learning objectives are met by facilitating assessment techniques to check learners’ understanding and to ensure skill and/or knowledge acquisition, on-the-job application, and intended business results.
  • Work collaboratively with team, to manage and maintain the day-to-day operations of the Learning Management System, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Work closely with managers and staff to schedule refresher and new hire training courses in compliance with standards.
  • Conduct Managing Crisis Safely (MCS) training course in the community, as needed, to prevent crises or manage them once they arise.

 

KNOWLEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience developing and delivering training programs in a variety of formats; Strong preference for experience with various training technology and platforms.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Patience and empathy for a variety of learning styles.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to organize and multitask.
  • Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Teaching Certification, Human Resources/Business or Communications
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a teacher or trainer, including program development, design, delivery, and assessments to adult learners
  • Must maintain agency-required certifications
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and must be insurable through the agency’s insurance carrier
  • Must be cleared through the Dept. of Human Resources Child Abuse & Neglect Registry as well as the ABI/FBI and pass all required pre-employment and background screening
