Description

The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for our residents. This role promotes wellness, independence, and a sense of community through engaging programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities.

  • Develop and implement monthly activity calendars with diverse offerings (games, music, arts & crafts, fitness, outings, holiday events, etc.)

  • Coordinate and lead daily activities both on-site and in the community

  • Encourage resident participation and accommodate individual needs/preferences

  • Foster relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure personalized engagement

  • Supervise and schedule activity assistants and volunteers

  • Maintain documentation of attendance, participation, and program evaluations

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and facility policies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in senior living, healthcare, or recreation

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for working with seniors

  • Ability to lead group activities and manage multiple tasks

  • Valid driver’s license (for outings and transportation needs)
