QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ work experience in youth development, recreation, or other related fields.
- Previous sports league experience.
- Strong knowledge and skills related to a physical education curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of rules of games, and individual and team sports.
- Organized, flexible, and precise with sports related information.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
- Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aide certifications.
- Maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
- Flawless ethics and integrity.
- Safety oriented mindset.
Recommended:
- Direct youth programming experience.
- Experience working in a non-profit setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Must be able to move quickly to keep up with youth and teens.
- Must maintain energy and be attentive for 8 hours or more a day.
- Must be able to work in an office environment with frequent hours at a computer.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, run, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, twist trunk or neck, climb and grasp or squeeze with right and left hand in completing required tasks.
- Must be able to regularly deal with normal levels of stress.
- Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 35 pounds and should do so in a safe and sound manner.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work environment is varied, divided between typical office setting and gym environment.
- Must be able to complete work satisfactorily despite significant, frequent distractions throughout the workday.
- Workload and working hours may fluctuate throughout the year. During sports season work schedule maybe 12pm-8pm. Along with some Saturdays depending on the sport season.
- Required to provide programming directly for youth and/or teen members.
- Required to drive Club vehicles, including a 15-passenger minibus.
- Works both indoors and outdoors. Exposed to variable weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat.
