JOB SUMMARY
The Division of Social Sciences at Columbia College invites applications for a Professor in Psychology position beginning August 2025 with a strong teaching focus in Mental Health Counseling. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and teach in our undergraduate programs. A terminal degree in clinical/counseling psychology or counselor education from an accredited institution is required as well as current licensure. ABD candidates may be considered if degree completion is expected before August 1, 2025. All required documents must be completed for the application to be reviewed.
This full-time tenure track faculty role reports directly to the Dean of the Division of Social Sciences. The position requires visionary leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Psychology program, including the Bachelor of Arts (in-person and online) and Bachelor of Science (in-person) degree tracks.Â
This position is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment. The standard teaching load is twelve credit hours for each of the fall and spring semesters. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to design and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including online and hybrid modalities, and is expected to teach core courses and specialized courses in personality, statistics, research methods, psychological disorders, and clinical and counseling psychology.
The candidate is expected to have flexibility in class scheduling to meet the needs of the College. Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty governance and academic program activities and to engage in service as well as scholarship and professional development.Â
