POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Director role is responsible for managing all aspects of a client’s business. The primary goal is to provide exceptional client experience and increase customer satisfaction, by having a deep understanding of the client’s key business issues and providing products and services to help address those needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated, with a passion for managing client needs and taking their business to the next level. Key factors for this position are not only technical aptitude, but also being a problem solver, continuous learner, and great collaborator.

 

Area of Focus:
All other duties as assigned, plus…

  • Ability to drive financial discussion (revenue focuses, economic sharing, ramp plans, etc.) with strong analytical skills 

  • Ability to dimension product/problem/market fit for growing the relationship/revenue with partner 

  • Understands how to align incentives to adapt, grow, shrink relationship 

  • Prepare long-term and short-term goals and account objectives

  • Serve as point of contact for customers in portfolio

  • Understand customer requirements and needs to offer suitable solutions and generate new business

  • Ensure timely delivery of services and products to clients

  • Build trust and long-term customer relationships

  • Resolve issues to maintain and strengthen customer trust

  • Manage large volumes of data to help produce management, operations and financial insights

  • Drive and prioritize multiple initiatives alongside the Engineering team

  • Manage complex escalations in a timely and efficient manner (as needed), while effectively balancing business and technical risks

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to mentor new team members and junior level positions.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

  • 10 years of account management preferable in the financial services industry
  • A strong client management background and experience with client management tools
  • Ability to work with business leaders all the way down to critical payment operations personnel
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in payments (and with billion-dollar payments systems) a plus
