Job Summary
The Activities Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in senior care facilities. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and mental well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and possess strong communication skills to effectively connect with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
• Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and participation.
• Communicate effectively with residents to assess their interests and gather feedback on activities.
• Manage schedules for activities, ensuring a balanced variety of options that cater to different abilities and preferences.
• Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are safe and accessible for all residents.
• Provide support and assistance during events, ensuring a positive experience for participants.
• Maintain records of attendance and participation in activities for reporting purposes.
• Stay informed about aging issues and trends in senior care to continually enhance the program.

Experience

• Previous experience in senior care or assisted living environments is preferred.
• Background in event planning or recreational therapy is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in communication, organization, and schedule management are essential.
• Familiarity with aging issues counseling and home community care practices is a plus.
• A compassionate approach to caregiving is crucial for success in this role.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
