POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality and Compliance Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making across Rocky Mountain Health Care Services by collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting on clinical and operational data. This role is integral to advancing organizational quality improvement efforts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety, privacy, and accountability. Working within the Quality and Compliance Department, the Analyst collaborates with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to translate data insights into action.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Collects, cleans, and validates healthcare data from internal and external sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyzes trends and outcomes across clinical and non-clinical domains to identify areas of risk, opportunity, and improvement.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), compliance metrics, and outcome measures.
  • Monitors and supports performance improvement projects and regulatory compliance efforts. 
  • Participates in audits and ensures timely and accurate submission of required reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Presents analytical findings and actionable recommendations to diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Delivers education on quality indicators, compliance measures, and reporting processes.
  • Maintains adherence to HIPAA and other privacy standards, supporting organizational privacy initiatives.
  • Assists in the development and management of databases, reporting systems, and data warehouses.
  • Contributes to the organization’s commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (required).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare data analysis, project monitoring, or quality/compliance reporting.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools; experience with EHR systems and SQL preferred.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare terminology, compliance standards (HIPAA), regulatory frameworks and coding systems (ICD, CPT).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively across teams.
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • CHC, CPHQ, or similar certification preferred or willingness to obtain within two years.
