KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Hospitality Aide is a part-time position based on business needs and will work an estimated 20 hours per week. This is an opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus Christ by providing welcoming hospitality on behalf of Grace Church. The Hospitality Aide will serve in the various areas of Hospitality as needed, including the kitchen, café, food service for events and miscellaneous tasks. The Hospitality Aide will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in kitchen, café and event operations as needed.
  • Available to work weekdays, plus occasional evenings and weekend.
  • Operate a safe and clean work environment.
  • Understand safety responsibilities as well as environmental laws by following established procedures, policies, training and involvement activities.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Food preparation.
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Collect and put away dishes.
  • Complete cleaning lists.
  • When working an event, pull and transport necessary items; set up, break down and clean; and return supplies and equipment to designated storages in compliance with banquet standards and instructions.
  • Serve meals and beverages.
  • Organize, count and restock product and equipment inventories.
  • Serve in supporting roles as needed in the café which could include assisting with opening and closing, food and beverage preparation, serving customers, operate the cash register and other tasks.
  • When working in the café, serve under the direction of the Café Manager or Café Supervisor.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • A positive, cooperative, graceful attitude of service with customers and co-workers is essential for hospitality.
  • 1+ years of experience in a café, restaurant, or other food service organization preferred, however, no experience is required. Training will be provided.
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20)
  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
  • Consistent attendance and participation in Grace Church and involvement in the life of the church
