Description

Purpose of Position 

Grace Chapel is seeking a passionate and innovative Communications Professional to craft engaging and effective written content for Grace Chapel. This includes creating marketing materials, website copy, social media posts, email campaigns, and more, all while aligning with the church's mission and values. The goal is to connect with the audience, build community, and inspire faith in action and generosity.   

 

 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Content Creation: Writing, editing, and proofreading copy for various platforms, including website, mailings, email, social media, print materials, and more.  

  • Brand Voice & Messaging: Ensuring consistent and compelling communication that reflects the church's unique brand and voice.  

  • Own cross-campus internal-audience communications, including e-News, giving, announcements, annual report, and other all-church messages 

  • Serve as editor for the Grace Chapel blog, A Thoughtful Faith  

  • Develop written content in a range of media, including email, website content, and video script that connects and resonates with both internal and external audiences. 

  • Craft compelling appeals for giving and communicating directly to givers and supporters with messages of thanks and encouragement.  

  • Contribute to the overall communication strategy, brainstorming ideas, and developing content calendars.  

  • Manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.  

  • Work closely with other teams (e.g., creative, marketing, ministry) to ensure effective communication and project execution.  

  • Work with Marketing Analyst to Track and analyze the performance of marketing copy to optimize future content. 

 

Qualifications

Education and training requirements 

  • Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field of study 

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience with copywriting and/or communications 

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  

  • Organizational skills: Strong organizational and project management skills; highly pro-active and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to maintain high productivity amidst competing priorities and tight deadlines.   

  • Team-Oriented: A gifted and energetic collaborator who can engage with staff and volunteers through the planning and execution phases of communication projects. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.   

  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and website content management tools. Ability to quickly learn new tools, platforms, and systems.   

  • Exceptional Writing & Editing Skills: Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style, with the ability to adapt writing to different platforms and audiences.  

  • Understanding of Christian Theology & Culture: Ability to incorporate biblical references and spiritual themes authentically.  

  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Familiarity with social media marketing, email marketing, and other digital channels.  

  • Creativity & Storytelling: Ability to develop engaging narratives and compelling content.  

  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.  

  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and solve problems creatively
